University Lyon 1's challenge

Today's students are digital natives: they spend all day on tablets, phones and laptops, even in class. To teach them leadership, that was the way in.

The lecturer, who visits trade fairs to see what serious games are available, was looking for a product that matched the university's expectations on leadership.

  • Teach leadership to digital natives.
  • Find a serious game with real content.
  • Win over students and faculty.

The solution

Game Strategies presented its product at the university to students and faculty, and it went down very well. Its leadership offer matched what they were looking for.

The lecturer focused on Pacific. What interested him most was the learning scenario: mobilising people, taking time to understand their skills and sensibilities, and letting each person do what they do best within the team.

In their own words

For young people, who are digital natives, this way in has an innovative, playful side that appeals to them, with real training content behind it.

What I found really interesting about Pacific is the learning scenario.

Teaching common sense is a big part of my job today, and I think this game addresses a fairly important share of common sense.

The results

The university community was won over: for young people, the game has an innovative, enjoyable side that appeals to them, with real training content behind it.

For the lecturer, Pacific conveys a big dose of common sense, which is much of what he tries to teach.
