But the crux is how exactly do we create a story that grabs our audience, especially when our goals require us to keep the essence of the original training content intact?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pixar&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.es\/books\/about\/Pixar_Storytelling.html?id=5KfqvQEACAAJ&amp;source=kp_book_description&amp;redir_esc=y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">22 Rules of Storytelling<\/a> are a great glimpse into how creators construct their ideas at the massively successful animation studio. The main idea behind these rules touches on what we mentioned above. Filmmaker Andrew Stanton, who worked on some of the company\u2019s most noteworthy films, Toy Story and Wall-E, stated in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ted.com\/talks\/andrew_stanton_the_clues_to_a_great_story?language=en#t-66908\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TED talk<\/a> that &#8220;storytelling is joke-telling. It\u2019s knowing your punchline, your ending, knowing that everything you\u2019re saying, from the first sentence to the last, is leading to a singular goal, and ideally confirming some truth that deepens our understandings of who we are as human beings.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/catalog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-85857 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/banner-experts-en-3.jpg\" alt=\"Banner experts en 3\" width=\"780\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The transcendence and power of stories in our own humanity are undeniable, so what\u2019s stopping you from harnessing them and integrating them into the way you communicate and transmit information? Corporate training is undoubtedly one of the areas we can apply it to. There is already a number of digital tools out there designed to help creators with the creative process. Below are some of the tools that caught our eye, especially in the context of creating e-learning courses and utilizing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/resources\/blog\/the-7-best-articles-on-serious-games-and-game-based-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game-based learning<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/twinery.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twine<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Created in 2009, Twine is an open-source program widely used by video game designers because it helps them create interactive, nonlinear stories &#8212; as is popular in that format.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone who\u2019s interested can familiarize themselves with the software and find loads of help on how to use it on their<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twinery.org\/wiki\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wiki<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan Cox\u2019s blog series<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/blogs\/DanCox\/20130203\/185939\/Learning_Twine_Part_1.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gamasutra<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is also a great place to delve into all the possibilities this program has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storyist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Storyist<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although intended for writers, Storyist is an application that can make it more manageable for any instructional designer to create stories to serve as a backdrop to their content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airstory.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Airstory<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staying in the vein of tools that are designed for writers or editors but that can also help organize ideas, we have Airstory. Its features include easy, organized storage and the ability to turn texts and images into cards.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/livingwriter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Livingwriter<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This application can be used to easily structure plot points. It also offers templates with common story structures so you can pick and choose the ones that fit your needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campfiretechnology.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Campfire Technology<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On their website, Campfire boasts that the tool helps writers \u201cimagine, plan, and tell their stories.\u201d That slogan alone justifies checking out how it works.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also generate their own content,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campfiretechnology.com\/blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">like their blog<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which discusses their product and everything else that goes into story creation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>6. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.literatureandlatte.com\/scapple\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scapple<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.literatureandlatte.com\/scrivener\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scrivener<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are two complementary tools offered by the same company.
