Every year we tell ourselves that <strong>this is the year<\/strong>. We don&#8217;t want that chaos\u00a0anymore, no more problems derived from bad planning and no more overcrowded calendars that \u00a0leave us no time\u00a0to focus on our work.<\/p>\n<p>Not keeping track of our agenda has a negative impact on our personal life, our performance at work and, as a result, on a larger scale, on\u00a0<a title=\"productivity tool for business\" href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/resources\/blog\/productivity-tool-for-your-business-self-management\/\">our company&#8217;s <strong>productivity<\/strong><\/a>. It&#8217;s not unusual to feel overwhelmed about our agenda. The most important thing is not letting it overpower us and, especially, to be the ones who keep the control.<\/p>\n<p>At\u00a0Gamelearn\u00a0we give some tips and advice that you can follow to take control of your planning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Arrange short meetings and go straight to the point. <\/strong>How much time do we lose everyday at <a title=\"meetings that lead nowhere\" href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/resources\/blog\/10-situations-when-a-meeting-is-not-necessary\/\">meetings that lead nowhere<\/a>? Stop doing this. Make a list with\u00a0of\u00a0the important subjects to\u00a0be debated and set a specific \u00a0time for every point. If necessary, you can use a timer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Take advantage of the opportunities provided by technology.\u00a0<\/strong>Particularly when we talk about optimizing time. It&#8217;s not necessary to always arrange face-to face meetings, we luckily have acces to a wide range of tools that allow us to connect with almost every region of the world from a distance.\u00a0Skype, Hangouts, Facetime&#8230; they exist to make your life easier. <a title=\"Use apps to improve your productivity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/resources\/blog\/top-productivity-apps-2016\/\">Use apps to improve your productivity<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b><a title=\"Learn to say NO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.game-learn.com\/en\/resources\/blog\/say-no-choose-whats-important\/\">Learn to say NO<\/a>. <\/b>You don&#8217;t only have to plan meetings; sometimes you have to decline them. How many times are you perfectly conscious, before starting a meeting, that you aren&#8217;t gaining anything from it? Ask yourself if this particular meeting is in line to achieve your primary objectives and your company&#8217;s mission. Avoid improvising dates, meetings with people that are not scheduled.
